Sick Kids

The day after Christmas we were both lucky enough to have the day off... along with everyone else but still it was nice.  We mostly just watched tv in bed because cleaning has taken up a lot of time lately and it was nice to just relax.  My mom came over to wash some of her undies because her water got turned off on Christmas Eve for three days!  yikes! As soon as she was leaving I told her I got really nauseated all of a sudden and I semi got the "you never feel good look" I usually get.  So I went and cemented myself to the bed with a serious tummy trying to come up my throat feeling.  Tony was a gem and cleaned out the drain in the shower and we poured down some lysol to make it smell pretty and the smell was giving us a little headache and he said his stomach felt a little funny too. Yes, Tony actually didn't feel well.

So ..... just before midnight I wake up ... run to the ladies' room and up came my dinner, about an hour later my lunch, and a little later my breakfast.  In between Tony was losing his in about the same order. I think one of the worst decisions when you are sick is which side to put on the toilet and deciding which would be worse to clean up.... so I threw up in the garbage can and left it there because I had no strength... dear Tony took it out.  Yeah... that was pretty great of him. We are just ... becoming so close, in the most romantic way, vomit and #2. TMI?

We woke up wondering who was trying to kill us. We both stayed in bed and made our 3 day weekend a 4 day one.  I'd like to say it was enjoyable but it was mostly sleep and Popsicles and tylenol and sprite. Yesterday we both felt about 80%-100% and started eating real food and all that jazz... really exciting.

Adieu

We said farewell yesterday to Tony's grandparents as they left on their 18 month mission in Sweden.  We will miss them lots! 

They have been very very good to us- they even are letting us babysit their house while they are gone.  We are moving TODAY! We got to do a mini version of Christmas with them last Saturday and had scones for breakfast with the whole family and then opened up some presents.

Clover was so lucky that she got to come with us.  She fell asleep every time in the car and woke up at a different house.

In other news, our dearest matthew and brittany got married which is really exciting.... and Ian has a really cool moustache.

and Ryker had his very first jr. jazz game.  He is probably the best dribbler of any of the kids... as most of them don't bother dribbling.

10 chains left!

so a couple months ago someone gave me some sparkly christmas paper cut up in strips.... it was a little early to do it but what else would I do with christmas paper strips?!  I made a very very long train which mindy featured on her blog...

and OMG look at it now!  Only  10 chains left!  Mindy and Libby hate christmas songs and christmas actually so they love when I sing a christmas song every morning as I rip one off. Touchin' Lives!

Festival of the crazy kids and the white elephant

Last week I went with my mom to take the kids to the princess festival christmas edition.  It is all for charity and is all volunteer work which is pretty nice.  They put on a little show for you and try to teach you that christmas is about giving and sharing and helping.  We played "I Spy" on the way home and when the kids would start fighting over whose turn it was my mom would say "I'm going to be kind and give my turn to Afton" and then I never wanted to play so I would give my turn up to one of them.  Then the kids started joining in and Afton and Ryker gave their turns up for each other! EPIC! However, it didn't last long when Ryker said "I spy a big baby in the car and her name is Afton"... we tried. The best was Kiron who would tell you exactly what he spied... "I spy can you guess that red car up on the sign right there" or "I spy can you guess the red and blue circles that blow the hot and cold air inside the car"... we were cracking up!

The other highlight was when we had to ride the train through the mall and Kiron started yelling out Merry Christmas and waving to every single person that we went by.

We also went to our Elders Quorum white elephant party with Shane and Danielle and they had quite the gifts there... fanny floss, a sexy time clock, and this wonderful purse made out of whitey tightys which had a chocolate stain in the bum....

We made out pretty well considering... I think our neighbor wanted to fight me when I wouldn't trade after they said time up...

The Happenings

  This last week I got to spend some much needed time with some friends.  I got to finally meet little Asher who belongs to Julie. Julie and I have some excellent plans for the Nordstrom christmas party... assuming they really are inviting us.... we would be the hired entertainment.  Stay posted with fingers crossed on that one.  Love spending time with Julie and most definitely miss working with her every day.  She is one of the few people who genuinely laughs at my jokes.  Thanks jules. 

Then I went down to do Portia's hair on Saturday and Tony and I got to play with her little girl Gracie who was CRACKING ME UP!  She has started saying the funniest stuff... kills me.  She was putting on my make up and I turned to say something to Tony and she grabbed my chin and turned it back to her.  She is growing up way too fast. 

We also got to spend some time with friends at Katie and Trevor's little christmas gathering.  Only picture I got was of Trevor carving his very first turkey.  Shout out to the epic moment!

and last but not least we finished off no shave november... and by we I mean Tony.. Don't worry I did not grow myself out... this is getting weird so I'll stop.

I'm in trouble

So i don't know what it is... but babies are everywhere.  and i want one.  Tony says "not now" and the more I ask the longer it will probably be. I'm so excited to be a mom!  I love kids and Tony will be the greatest dad.  We are everyone's favorite aunt and uncle of course.  We are even Tatum's godparents. I can't wait to have possibly the most beautiful child ever, thanks to Tony.  Let's all cross our fingers it doesn't have to wait five years. And if you missed it before... here is our virtual child "bon qui qui"... yes, I pulled a Kate Hudson.

Don't think I will do scary spice's hairdo on my kids but come on... our kids will be cute!

turkey time etc

On Thanksgiving morning I let Lindsey talk me into doing the 5K Turkey Trot in Draper.  I had been eating like poop and had not been running in a few weeks so I wish I would have been more prepared but 30:46 was ok since my goal was just to not have to walk and I did it.  Even though some people like Paula can walk faster than my jogging pace that day.

We had a good thanksgiving and got to spend it with both of our families which is an added bonus of having them all so close.  Didn't get any pics but you know what they all look like anyways ;)
We decided to do black friday at Target which opened at midnight.  We waited outside from about 10:25 to midnight and it was a bit chilly but probably the warmest thanksgiving we have seen in awhile so it could have been worse!

We got our vacuum for a screamin deal and Tony let me get a beautiful new camera which i am so excited about! yay for deals! I then went to taipan with Danielle at 6 AM and we got lots of cute stuff for our tree... which will probably just be for next year. Shall be a test of patience and I'm not good with those but I'll try.

and we had a fun day Saturday with Danielle, Afton , and Mack getting some more shopping done and we went to see Muppets... really wish I had a picture of Danielle and Mack both asleep in the movie and Danielle in the classic head straight back- mouth open pose. Mack is getting so chubby and is seriously the best baby ever!  We are going to miss seeing our kids every day!  Only three weeks til we move!

This thing is fun...

Marriage totally is a rollercoaster.  We were pretty lucky and didn't really notice much of a difference from dating to being married except the sleepover part which was a bonus.  That's what happens when you know each other for 2 years and live two minutes apart.  I highly recommend it- nice transition.  There are definitely some arguments but lots of silly times.  Like this morning.... Tony's radio alarm clock wakes us up every morning to 92.5 FM.  This morning Usher's OMG was playing and we just started dancing robotically.  Then the chorus stopped and we kept getting dressed and the next chorus... more dancing without even planning it.  It just made me laugh.  I love that we are probably the two silliest people to ever find each other.  This morning I weighed myself and came in to tell tony I lost .5 of a lb. and started doing the john wall flexed muscle dance... I think he loved it.. or was just smiling at my ridiculousness.  I love that there is zero embarrassment between us... except when he catches me saying things like "notified" instead of "notarized"... I fixed it myself when he started laughing I KNOW THE WORD! I mix up words a lot lately and Tony is loving catching them.  I hate it but if it makes him laugh... I'll deal with it. But really... I love this guy.  I just really really love him.

Messam Birth Celebrations!

 We celebrated Curis, Amanda, Pat, and Tony's birthdays this week at Bonsai!  It was delicious!  And can everyone just take a minute to look at Pat smiling with his teeth without being told!! It was fun to have everyone together and be laughing til it hurt. Not sure why I felt the need to bring asian persuasion to the picture but that's what happens when you get me laughing. Love that when Tony and I told Pat we want to be friends with our waiter he asked him if he was on facebook.  He's not... nor did he seem to know what fb was.... but then again Pat isn't on facebook either.

In other news.... I died my hair pink... well it's reddish with some brown and only some people even noticed.
